When we asked Beatrice at Residenza Casanuova if she could help us find someone who was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic about art history, we honestly had our doubts whether such a person existed. But we came with open minds, and the moment you walked us into the Church of Santa Croce and began to speak of the Florentine approach to Gothic architecture, we became your enthusiastic students. We could have spent days in the Uffizi on our own and never appreciated it as much as we did in an afternoon with you. You are an inspired guide, and when you told us that you love what do, we were entirely convinced.

Hi Olivia, I arrived home last Friday evening. It was mixed emotions to come home - always nice to be in your own house but my mind was still very much in the moment with Italy. All was beautiful with the trip but especially our day spent with you. This day will be day that I always remember and I look forward to my next trip to Italy (2010?) and having a chance to tour with you again. Thanks again for the great job you did and I will send the pictures within a couple of weeks!

Hello Olivia, I just wanted to drop you a line now that I have had a bit of time to catch up from being gone and thank you for a wonderful day in the Tuscan countryside. It was the highlight of the time we spent in Italy for me. What a great opportunity to visit the non-city areas of Tuscany - my favorite was definitely the little town Montefioralle! Olivia, I just got back to Oregon from my Italy vacation. I wanted to tell you that the tour of the Chianti region that I took with you was one of the highlights of my trip. I had such a great time and really loved the little country towns in the Chianti area. Again, thanks for a memorable tour.

Dear Olivia, You may not remember us - we were with you the day the monk let us in to the closed part of the monastery to look at the art and we saw a huge last supper fresco painted in 1637 ( or close to it ) in the refectory. And I liked to try everything ! After our lunch of freshly made tortello we had coffee and then I tried a pickled garlic as we were leaving the building. Maybe now you remember a bit ? Well anyway I am writing because we had a most enjoyable day with you and saw so many places, we wanted you to know it was one of the highlights of our whole trip. I intended to email earlier, but didn't get around to it, however, today for the first time ever, I am pickling our own home grown garlic and of course thought of you. Hope it tastes good.
